Welcome to my corner of the internet.
My name is Aanchal Singhal. I work in public policy, with a particular focus on women's economic empowerment. That means I spend a lot of time thinking about labour markets, gender norms, the invisible economy of unpaid care, and the structural reasons why so many women remain on the margins of formal economic life in India.
I did my BA in Philosophy from Miranda House, University of Delhi, and my Master of Public Policy from the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru. The combination has shaped how I approach policy — with as much attention to the ethical and social foundations of a problem as to its technical details.
This site is a place to think out loud. I'll be sharing essays, policy analyses, and occasional longer reflections on things I find worth examining closely. Some of it will be directly connected to my work. Some of it will be adjacent — ideas about institutions, economics, feminism, and what it means to build policy that actually serves people.
I am not interested in hot takes or content for its own sake. I am interested in careful thinking, clearly expressed.
If any of it resonates, I would love to hear from you.
